Spring Update

C V and crew have only done 4 of the 8 races so far,

Race  3 - See previous report

Race 4 in 14 knots of westerly 1st out the entrance but decided it too tight to carry a kite, Future Feedback managed a shy kite to beat us to the 1st mark (Boulder 1), then a 2.5 mile beat out to the Fairway beacon. ahead of Squealer, the new boat on the scene, Elliott 10.5, Wild Thing, Ballistic.
We carried on out on port after rounding the mark chasing F/F, we were pointing higher and slowly pulling them in.
The 3 behind had tacked away on starboard, half way out we decided the boats out left were looking good so left F/F to cover the others, now in the middle of the track and fell into a hole.
Bugger! Future Feedback had gone to the starboard lay line, the others on port lay line, C V stuck in the middle.
All 3 Divisions arrived at the Cardinal mark at the same time so a lot of traffic, Ballistic around 1st in our division, Future Feedback 2nd, Wild Thing, Squealer and C V 5th
A kite run to the finish, we managed to sail inside Wild Thing and Squealer gybing onto port in the entrance managing 3rd on line, 5th on handicap

Race 7 -
8 to 12 knots of NNW
We managed 3rd out the entrance behind Squealer and Wild Thing and stayed in 3rd position until the finish. Another 5th on handicap
Race 8
There had been a nice 18 knot northerly in the bay all afternoon, but come 5:30pm it had turned easterly 20-25,
We managed 1st out the entrance, staying ahead of the pack around the 6.9 mile triangle course, finishing ahead of Wild Thing in 2nd, Squealer in 3rd. NICE.

Great to see Mrs Jones now renamed "Same Cafe" back out racing, new owners taking a while to get to grips with her at this stage.

One of my crew and I have bought a new toy out of Aussie, She is a Thompson 650 Sport boat.
Should be fun. Due here the end of the month
